Well, I've finally finished cleaning the house after Mum's New Year's Eve party. I don't think I've ever seen so many bottles in my life.
Mum, of course, is too busy "fixing" her perpetually hungover state by getting more drunk to lift a finger. So I got to clean the house - which her friends left a complete mess, of course - all on my own.
I can't wait for school to start again.
I hate having divorced parents.
font size=1>ooc: I'm grounded for an indefinite amount of time. My parents literally removed my computer from my room, which means I have little to no computer access, except what I can talk my brother into giving me on his computer, which is where I am right now. Hopefully, I'll be able to get on enough to keep resonably active, but I don't know and can't guarantee anything. :( |

Evelyn turned up the volume on her MP3 player, hoping the blaring music would finally drown out the pet names and loving noises her father and new step-mother were making in the kitchen.
You've been married since April, for heaven's sake, she thought, tucking in the corner of the sheet in Jack's room. Grow up, already!
She took a step back and surveyed the bed, which she had managed to make herself with a minimum amount of mishap. And it didn't look half bad either. At least, it didn't look like it had been made up by a six year old. That was a definite improvement.
Satisfied with her handiwork, she went downstairs to the living room to wait for Jack. |

I cannot recall Ravenclaw tower ever being quite this noisy. The confinement of the entire house to the common room and dorms is wrecking havoc with the quiet and with my peace of mind.
I never really realized until now just how high-pitched first years' voices are. It is quite headache-inducing and not at all condusive to studying, which is what I have been trying to do in the absence of classes.
And, as if all that weren't enough, Finn has decemated my room. Comletely decemated it, to the point where I can no longer see the floor, he's made such a mess. I spent all morning picking up that cat's mess, then left the dorm for lunch, only to come back and find that he had recreated his mess. The inability to leave the common room is bothering him just as much as it is me. And I think he misses Terri too. |

OOC: Long story short, my parents are going out of town, and since I have no desire to be babysat by my brothers' rock-climbing coach, I'm staying at a friend's house through Saturday. She happens to be very anti-internet, so I probably won't be around to RP very much until Saturday night.

Finn woke up with Terri still curled around him. She was very warm and her fur was so soft. He rubbed his nose in her neck, breathing her scent. She smelled nice too.
He purred a little, snuggling closer. |

Has anyone seen Finn? He's a small, tan, kitten. He got out of my room last night and I haven't been able to find him. |

Evelyn finished her homework, then left Ravenclaw Tower and walked towards the portrait of the Fat Lady where the Gryffindor Common Room was.
She sat down on the staircase outside the portrait to wait for Vati. |

My cat now has a name. Finn. He's an adorable little thing, but he has already tried to eat my homework, my comforter, my pillow, and my journal. Mischievious little demon.
But he's so cute, you just can't stay mad at him.
Although, last night, he decided to sleep on my head. I woke up around three am when he tried to stick his tail in my mouth. That was gross.
Anyone want to get together and do something? Marlow? Vati? Katie? Anyone? |

I think I'm really going to like this school year. I have no class on Mondays, and only one on Wednesday.
So if anyone wants to do anything...
I've also decided that this year I'm going to make more friends. So:
Hi. I'm Evelyn. And you are? |

I can't believe summer's almost over. Summer just flew by. I'm kind of looking forward to school, but not very much. It'll be nice to see everyone again, but I can't say I'm excited about the prospect of homework.
So, for everyone I haven't seen very much over the summer, would you like to do something before school starts?
ooc: School, unfortunately, started for me on Monday. The homework load is already unbelievable. Between school and work, I won't be on as much, and I'm going to have to work at it to keep up. I shall try my utmost to fufill the posting requirements and hopefully, the load will lighten up in a few weeks. |

Katie? Shopping today?
How is everyone? I haven't heard from you all in ages!
I'm going to Jack's brother's Bar Mitvah. I've never been to one. It should be fun. And after going through my closet, I have decided that I *dramatic sigh* havn't a thing to wear. So I must go shopping!
It's true that I don't have anything to wear, though. For some reason, I seem to have left all my really nice clothes at my mum's house. Harebrained thing to do, that. I never go there.
Then again, I never go anywhere that requires me to dress nicely anyway. Not since Mum stopped having all those parties. So there's not much point in me having nice clothes anyway.
Except that I like nice clothes and they're fun to shop for.
I can be such a bubblehead sometimes. |

I passed my Apparation test today. It wasn't nearly as hard as the instructor made it out to be.
I freaked Julia out by Apparating home, right into the kitchen. She screamed. It was funny, but I felt a bit bad for scaring her.
But now I'm bored. I finished the book I was reading and I don't have the next one. Anyone want to entertain me before I wither away from boredom? |

| Katie!!! |
[Jun. 23rd, 2005|08:53 am] |
Evelyn stood in the center of her room, surrounded by boxes. She had a pair of scissors in her hand, which she was using to open the boxes filled with her clothes, books, and childhood toys she'd been too lazy to get rid of.
Out of one box, she pulled a small paper bag covered in crayon scribble that had once represented something. She turned to Katie, who was sitting on the bed behind her.
"Do you know what this is?" she asked her, holding up the paper bag. "Rocks. This was my sad excuse for a rock collection when I was ten."
She shook her head and dropped it back in the box. "How does someone accumulate this much junk in only seventeen years!"
ooc: I have work from 10-3 today, but I thought I'd get this up before I left. Hope you don't mind! |

| For the lovely George |
[Jun. 22nd, 2005|08:02 pm] |
Evelyn hurried down the steps from her room to the living room, where the fireplace was. She was still in her pajamas, a pale blue tank top and lavendar pants. She sat on the couch, waiting for George.
She stood up when flames roared up momentarily and George stepped out in a minature cloud of soot.
ooc: Crappy, but my imagination put me on hold. |

I really don't want to unpack. At all. I hate moving. There are boxes everywhere. I honestly did not know I had this much stuff. Nothing like moving to show you how much junk you actually have.
Julia packed up all my stuff from the old house and put it into my new room (which is lovely, by the way), which was really nice of her. I'm grateful, honest.
But it would have been much nicer if she'd unpacked it for me too.
Yes, I am lazy. It's summertime. I'm allowed to be lazy if I want to.
Katie- Want to help me unpack later?
ooc: My little brother's in the hospital, so if I'm not around much, that's why. I don't know what all this is going to require of me. Maybe not much, considering he's in Kentucky (I think), but maybe a lot. I don't know how long he'll be there, or if I'm going to have to go up there with my parents to see him. Just thought I'd give everyone the head's up. |
